Inflammaging
Inflammaging is the chronic, low-grade, sterile inflammation that increases with age and is now recognized as a primary driver of age-related disease. Unlike acute inflammation (which heals), inflammaging persists indefinitely, driven by senescent cell SASP secretion, mitochondrial damage-associated molecular patterns (mtDAMPs), gut barrier dysfunction, and epigenetic changes in immune cells. The Midas Protocol targets inflammaging at multiple levels: FOXO4-DRI clears the senescent cells secreting SASP, BPC-157 + TB-500 reduce tissue inflammation directly, Thymosin Alpha-1 modulates immune cell behavior, and L-Glutathione neutralizes oxidative inflammatory signals.
The Midas Approach
The Midas Longevity Protocol doesn't address inflammaging in isolation — it targets this pathway alongside 9 other aging mechanisms simultaneously. This multi-pathway approach reflects the scientific consensus that aging is not a single process but a network of interconnected pathways (Lopez-Otin et al., Cell 2023, "Hallmarks of Aging").
